Gallows Productions

Our History

A little bit MORE about us.

Out Of Bounds wasn't ALWAYS Out Of bounds. We first started off in 2013 as a startup company called 'New DNA' which was started by David Guy and Aleksandra Malec at the University of Winchester.

This company was created in order to produce a double bill of 'The Real Inspector Hound' by Tom Stoppard and 'Out For The Count' by Martin Downing. Along with fellow university students, this production was put on in the Performance Gym at the university and was well received.

Post-production, there were talks of re-branding, and soonafter the company became 'Gallows Productions', named after the love of 'gallows' or 'dark' humour, considering that most of the productions in the works at the time were of that nature. Under Gallows, the company put on shows such as 'BOYS' by Ella Hickson, 'The Eight: Reindeer Monologues' and 'Seven Santas' by Jeff Goode, 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead' by Tom Stoppard as well as creating shows such as 'The Lock-In' which was performed at Theatre Royal Winchester as well as 'A Mad Tea Party' which was performed at Winchester's Hat Fair Fringe Festival.

Gallows continued to grow with up to 25+ members at it's peak, creating shows and opportunities for students and emerging artist until 2016, when the company disbanded due to many of the student members leaving, but ultimately became 'Out Of Bounds Theatre', which has continued to grow until present day.
